Rajiv Kumar Ph.D.

charles brumlikDr. Rajiv Kumar obtained PhD in Coordination Chemistry and joined National Chemical Laboratory (NCL), Pune, India which is one of the leading R&D laboratories in India. During his 26 years of illustrious career at NCL, we went to become the Head of the Catalysis Division.  In the year 2007, he joined Tata Chemicals Innovation Centre based in Pune which is one of the leading industrial R&D Centres in India. Presently, he is heading the Innovation Center of Tata Chemicals Ltd. in Pune as Chief Scientist. During 1985-87 and 1991-92, he worked in Germany under DAAD and Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) fellowship programmes, respectively. The main areas of his activity and expertise are in the field of Green Chemistry and Catalysis, Renewable and clean Energy, nano-materials, Biosynthesis of nanomaterials. 

Dr. Rajiv Kumar has received ChemCon Distinguished Scientist award 2008, Dr. K.G. Naik Gold medal award for excellence in Chemical Sciences and Technology for 2003, Best Scientist of the year Award of NCL Research Foundation in1997 and Young Scientist Award, Catalysis Society of India in 1994.

Dr. Rajiv Kumar has been or currently on the Advisory Board of various Journals like Applied Catalysis A, Advances in Nanoporous Materials, Catalysis Bulletin of India, Pollution Research. He is former president of Catalysis Society of India (2007-09) and represented India in the Task Force on Catalysis for Climate Change mitigation for G-8 summit, Hokkaido, Japan 2008, as special invitee along with President of catalysis Society of China. He has been and is member of various National and International committees.

Dr. Rajiv Kumar has delivered more than 100 invited lectures at various national and International conferences / workshops. He has more than 175 research papers and 55 patents to his credit and guided about 20 Research Students for Ph.D. / M.Tech degrees.
